Privacy Policy

Desert Cities (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates desertcities.cc from the Coachella Valley, California. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.

We sell within the United States only.

When you order

• Name, email, shipping address, and phone number
• Payment details, processed by Square — we never see or store full card numbers

When you create an account (optional — you can check out as a guest)

• Email address and display name, and a Google account identifier if you sign in with Google
• Dates you created the account and last signed in

When you request a custom order

• Name, email, phone number, garment type, estimated quantity, and any notes you write
• Any artwork files you upload — see Custom Order Submissions below

Automatically

• Your IP address, used to rate-limit our forms and prevent abuse
• Usage data — pages visited, browser type, time on site — via Google Analytics, only after you consent

• Process and fulfill your orders
• Send order confirmations and shipping updates
• Produce and quote custom orders
• Respond to your questions
• Prevent fraud and abuse of our forms
• Understand how the site is used, so we can improve it (only with your consent)
• Comply with legal obligations

If you submit a custom order request, the details you enter and any artwork files you upload are stored on Google Cloud Storage and a copy of the request is emailed to us so we can quote it.

Uploaded files are stored privately and are reachable only through a unique, unguessable link that is shared with us by email. They are not published, indexed, or listed anywhere public.

We use artwork only to quote and produce your order. We will ask you first before using it for anything else, such as showing an example of our work.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers we need to run the store:

• Square — payment processing, order records, and customer records
• Google Cloud / Firebase — hosting, our database, file storage, and account sign-in
• Google Analytics — site usage measurement, only after you consent
• Resend — sending transactional and notification email
• USPS — delivering your order
• Google (Gmail) — receiving business email sent to us

We may also disclose information where required by law.

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 may set cookies and collect data including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy.

We use Google Consent Mode v2: analytics cookies are only set after you explicitly accept via our consent banner. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and local storage, or via Google's opt-out tool.

We'd rather tell you plainly than imply a schedule we don't run.

We currently keep order records, account records, custom order requests, and uploaded artwork indefinitely. We do not have an automatic deletion process.

Order and payment records are also retained by Square under their own retention terms, and we keep what we need for tax and accounting purposes.

If you want your data deleted, email us and we will do it — see below.

We implement reasonable security measures including TLS encryption and tokenized payment processing. Access to our admin tools and stored files is restricted to the operator's account. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Whatever state you live in, you can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you
• Correct anything that's wrong
• Delete your information, including any artwork you've sent us
• Stop analytics tracking — decline our consent banner, or clear cookies to withdraw consent

Email hello@desertcities.cc and we'll take care of it. We aim to respond within 30 days. We may need to keep certain order and tax records even after a deletion request, and we'll tell you if that applies.

Our store is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date above. Continued use of our store after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
